For my sons 1st Birthday, I wanted to make him a special cake. While browsing online I found a monkey cake and decided that was what I was going to make him.
A few imperfections but I made it work! :) I baked one round cake and cut it to it's shape. I frosted all of it in chocolate frosting except the nose, that was done in strawberry frosting. The eyes are made from an Oreo cookie split in half and M&Ms. The hair is chocolate Twizzlers and chocolate sprinkles. The ears are chocolate doughnuts frosted with chocolate frosting and the mouth is a Pull N' Peel Twizzler.
It was a pretty simple cake to make and it tasted great! My son didn't really care too much about it and didn't even really eat any of it. He pretty much just stared at it and didn't know what to think lol. He had a great birthday though!
